Find a Parent Group

You are not alone! Find more caregivers with shared experiences and get peer-to-peer help.

Parent groups allow you to connect with other families with similar stories, get and give advice, and feel supported through every step of your family’s journey.

Families Rising maintains a database with many adoption-related support groups from across the US and Canada.

Please note that some groups serve a region or even state while others serve a smaller community.

Want to add a parent group that is not in the database below — or make a correction? Please use this form and we will make the change.

To search by location, please type the state, province, or territory name in the search box below (just above the letters of the alphabet).

Notes

We have support groups throughout the state. Nearly all the groups are a mixture of foster adoptive and kinship. However there are two specific kinship groups and two specific for adoptive. AFFM provides a facilitator at each group as well as child care providers. Children have a separate play area. Snacks and water are provided to both the children and parents. At least one time per quarter the meetings include a training requested by the group. Please feel free to see our website affm.net for more information about the CARES groups.
